We are going Primetime

No, Deion Sanders is not coming out of retirement. The NFL has announced the Week 1 Prime Time games for the upcoming season. It looks like the Vikes will be playing the Packers on the 1st Monday Night Football game. It is going to sucking considering that all the DAMN annoucers will do is talk about how Aaron Rodgers is no Brett Favre. It would figure that we would be the 1st team to have to endure the season long comparison of Favre and Rodgers.

Matt playing Games

What is Matt Birk trying to do here? Matt Birk is one of the best at his postion and the leader of our team. I donnot like the way he is trying to get the BIG bucks. He is in the last year of his contract and will be a Free Agent next season. He also will be MIA for the Vikes Organized Team Activities unless he gets a new deal.
I believe that the Vikes will give him the deal that he wants, and it will make us all happy. Birk will retire as a Viking.

Signings for the Purple Pride

The Vikings have still been somewhat active even after the three big signings that took a good payday. But these players will be a BIG help for the Vikes this next season that will be certain. The Vikes contine to add depth to BOTH sides of the ball. With the Vikes resigning Robert Ferguson, this will add some expience to out recieving corps. Vikings coach Brad Childress said that Ferguson provided, "great leadership and toughness [for the receiver] group last year."

the Vikings today signed 7-year veteran Ellis Wyms to a one-year contract worth around $1 million.

Wyms joins The Irresistable Force, The Immovable Object, and Fred Evans to comprise what might be the best group of DTs in the NFL. In his 7 years, Wyms has a total of 16.5 sacks, and has the ability to play both inside and outside.

The Vikings also signed former Southern Cal linebacker Dallas Sartz to a contract. Sartz was a fifth-round pick by the Washington Redskins in last year's draft, but was cut prior to the regular season. He and Rufus Alexander will likely fight it out for the last LB spot.

On Thursday, the Vikes sign Micheal Boulware, DT Kenderick Allen. I was glad to hear that the Vikes are adding some depth in the secondary actually. We needed some PROVEN players back there in nomansland. He understands the his role will be to back up Sharper and MadieuWilliams at the safety postion.

he Vikings also added more depth on the defensive line, signing defensive tackle Kenderick Allen. At 6-5, 330 pounds, Allen will provide depth behind Pat Williams.

DE help

With the money that Vikes have put down on the FA this year. They still have yet to address the DE spot, in which in vacant. Considering that Udeze is a question mark if he will ever play the game again. With Wilf having no problems putting down the down thus far in the FA period. It would be some confort to know that we at least have an experience vet in lineup. The talent it not bad when it is healthy and out of trouble.

Bye Bye Brett

I could not believe the GREAT news that I heard this morning that Brett Favre is intending on retiring. I was like am I awake or is this all, but a dream. It seems to be true that the QB the red neck that everyone loved and feared is going home to hicksville(Kiln, MS).I am not sure if I am going to be able to handle the season this year not hearing able the ironman Brett Favre.I have been in a wonderful mood all day since I heard this news of Favre. I think it is funny considering that I live in Packer country and they treat like a terrorist attack around here.
He has been a thorn in the Viking side for most of his career as a Packer. His last NFl pass will always be an INT a great way to go out Brett.Around here is no news more important than this. Now it looks like that the Aaron Rodgers Era begins!!!!

One great weekend for me

On Friday, I got married on leap day so that is all good. I am mving as well. That is a reason why I have not been able to blog as much as usual sorry to all my readers.

We acquired Bernard Berrian(B2) in FA. I was like shit. The vikes landed one of the most sought after recievers in this years' FA period. I am just not that sure about the contract that they gave him. His contract for six years included $16 million in guaranteed money and was worth $42 million overall, which makes him the fourth highest paid receiver in the NFL.I just am not that sure if he is worth that much.I hope that he is able to prove me wrong. I have seen his tapes and he a good quality receiver, I hope he fits into the Vikes system well. I guess we will see where we are next season when it comes to the recieving corps. I just connot see us being in a much worse situation than we were entering into this seasons' FA period.
I must say this that thee owner was right that the Vikes were not going to be shy from spending a little bit of dough and going after some pretty good players this year.
