The Vikings have still been somewhat active even after the three big signings that took a good payday. But these players will be a BIG help for the Vikes this next season that will be certain. The Vikes contine to add depth to BOTH sides of the ball. With the Vikes resigning
Robert Ferguson, this will add some expience to out recieving corps. Vikings coach Brad Childress said that Ferguson provided, "great leadership and toughness [for the receiver] group last year."
the Vikings today signed 7-year veteran
Ellis Wyms to a
one-year contract worth around $1 million.
Wyms joins The Irresistable Force, The Immovable Object, and Fred Evans to comprise what might be the best group of DTs in the NFL. In his 7 years, Wyms has a total of 16.5 sacks, and has the ability to play both inside and outside.
The Vikings also signed former Southern Cal linebacker Dallas Sartz to a contract. Sartz was a fifth-round pick by the Washington Redskins in last year's draft, but was cut prior to the regular season. He and Rufus Alexander will likely fight it out for the last LB spot.
On Thursday, the Vikes sign Micheal Boulware, DT Kenderick Allen. I was glad to hear that the Vikes are adding some depth in the secondary actually. We needed some PROVEN players back there in nomansland. He understands the his role will be to back up Sharper and MadieuWilliams at the safety postion.
he Vikings also added more depth on the defensive line, signing defensive tackle Kenderick Allen. At 6-5, 330 pounds, Allen will provide depth behind Pat Williams.
