With the Vikings have ending training camp at Makato today, and start to prepare for the Colts on Friday. The talk around Vikings camp much of the week has been who will be starting at QB. Is it going to be the injury prone Jackson or newcomer Rosenfels. I do not think that it matters all that much. It is only the FIRST preseason game. Both QBs will have equal reps with the number one squad. So do not worry about who is the start QB in this game. It is not going to be the ensure that Jackson or Sage will be the starter for Week 1. I would not be shock if Jackson is named the starter.
In the preseason, I do not see the Vikes doing much rushing. Everyone knows that the Vikings can run the ball. The big question will be can they pass the ball with consistency? This is something that the Chilly and Vikes will need to do if they will be heading anywhere this season.

McDaniel Enshrined

On Saturday,Randall McDaniel was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2009. McDaniel is a great example of a class act on and off the field. He worked hard on the field while with the Vikes paving the way for six 1000 yard rushers in his 12 seasons. While he was playing, he was one of the best LG in the game. He was a 12 time Pro Bowler starter(NFL record) and is recognized for being one of the most versatile linemen the ever play the game. He was a true class act as player and more kids should follow his lead and lead by example approach.
Congrats to McDaniel for the accomplishing the NFL's top honor.

Let The Battle Continue and other news
With Tarvaris Jackson making his return to the practice field on Wednesday to continue the QB battle. He has been eased back into drills after spraining his MCL on Saturday. Jackson says that the knee feels great.
Glad to see that T-Jack will be competing for the starting job instead of it being handed to Sage.

NFL Does Not Approve
According to the Pioneer Press, the NFL has rejected the contract of Percy Harvin. The rejection will not keep Percy off of the practice field.
Typically, the violation relates to the way a team and agent structure the money of a deal, or language that violates the collective bargaining agreement. I am sure that we will find out what clause, the Vikes and his agent agreed upon that the NFL thought was out of line.
The NFL has approved Harvin's contract after the Vikes and Harvin's agent had to iron out the minor issue with the contract.

Harvin and Vikes Agree

FINALLY!! The Vikings and Percy Harvin have agreed on a contract. The contract is said to be 5 year deal, but the deals of the number were not disclosed. With Harvin now signed, now it time to play some ball. I just hope that he is the high caliber player that the Vikes are hoping that he is. He is expected to battle with Sidney Rice for the starting WR spot opposite of Bernard Berrian, and also to be used in the Wildcat offense as a back. With Harvin set to arrive in Vikings camp this afternoon for practice.
The next question: Who will be there to get him the ball? Only time will tell to see how that battle transpires.
Jackson Update
The MCL sprain the Jackson knee is only a Grade I. Brad Childress is not concerned with the injury to Jackson. So the Viking are not going to go and bring in an additional QB to take some reps. So Jackson will be day-to-day, while taking it easy on the left knee. So for now it is Sage and JD taking the reps for the offense. Close call

QB With A MCL Sprain
WOW!! That sure was quick. Vikings QB Tavaris Jackson has been bit with the injury bug already and it is only Day 2 into training camp. Tavaris Jackson has suffered a MCL sprain to his left knee. The Vikings are hoping that it is only a Grade I sprain(crossing your fingers), basically it means that he is day-to-day.
If it is a Grade II or worse, it would be at least a couple of weeks before Jackson sees anymore action. It will not be to long til the MRI on Jackson's knee will tell how bad it is.
The injury happened when, Jackson tripped over defensive lineman Letroy Guion during a 11-11 drill. All QBs are off limits during practice, you taught that in practice from peewee on.Guion could not explain why he made contact with the QB in the first place.Anyways, it seems that the Vikings QB battle has been put on hold. When the team finds out how bad to left knee of Jackson is.
