The defense kept us in the entire game. It is obvious that the Vikes have a Super Bowl caliber defense. With the ACL injury to CB Cedric Griffin. It will be interesting to see who will be filling that role the best. My bet will be Sanford or Cook.
Now if the offense mainly the QB could be playing at the same level as the defense the Vikes would be in great shape. The way that Favre played in the 2.5 quarter was horrendous. He could not hit the open receiver. So far in the season that had so much promise for the Vikes has been nothing, but heartbreak. He missed MULTIPLE open receivers throughout the game. There is a reason, why he has one of his worst passing percent game even in his career.
The Vikes have all the weapons in Moss, Harvin and of course Peterson the run with the big boys. The question is can Favre use all the weapon instead to overshooting the receiver. That will remain to be seen.
Can the Vikes get over the hump and not lose another close game next week against the Cowboys @home?

Will Moss Take Issue?
With the arrival of Randy Moss to the Vikes this past week was all over the news. Now with this trade, the Vikes receiving corps is or should be thrilled to have someone with Moss's caliber on the teams. The Jets do not seem to be to worried about Moss this week.
I for one am not that sure if the DB that will be defending Moss should be talking so much smack.
Here is a quotes from Revis that has been on his island for most of the season: "In the second half, you could tell he was putting his foot on the brakes," Revis said about Moss' performance against the Jets, via ESPNNewYork.com. "I mean, everybody knows that's Randy. Sometimes he plays 100 percent, sometimes he doesn't."
I am not sure what he is talking about considering that Antonio Cromartie shut Moss down in the second half. I think with this kind would will be motivation for Moss and the Vikes to take it to the Jets on all levels.
Sure if funny a motivated Moss is a freak of a receiver. So we will see which Moss will be showing up on Monday Night.
The only question I have can Favre get Moss the ball? We all will see that on MNF.

Randy Moss Is Coming Home Boys!!!

No we Viking fans are not dreaming it has come true. With an receiving corps that currently does not have a true deep threat in the passing game. The Vikings knew that they needed to get one in there. So a couple of weeks ago, the Vikes tried to acquired Vincent Jackson for the Chargers as that guy. Lucky, for the Vikes that class prick AJ Smith want to much that any team would be willing to give up.
Head down the road a couple of weeks. There was word that the Vikes and Patriots were talking about a possible trade for former Viking Randy Moss. The deal was officially announced this morning, that both team agreed on the terms of the Pats sending Randy Moss to the Vikes in exchange for a 2011 3rd round pick.
It looks like Moss will be playing in two straight Monday Night Football games. Now the Vikes have a legit deep threat at the receiver position, while Rice is out. It will be interesting to see how Moss will impact the Vikes this season.

Bye Week Blues Are Over

I sure do hate bye weeks especially this early in the season. I love to watch football, but it just is not the same watching the other teams. It seems that the player did keep thier noses clean for the bye week, so that is great to hear that the Vikes had no Love Boat incidents.
Some Viking news that did happen during the bye was not that terrible. The Not Fun League(NFL) office intold Allen that his "calf roping" celebration after sacks is against the rules. The NFL informed Allen that he will be subjected to a 15-yard penalty and a league fine the next time he does the celebration.
The league prohibits players from going to the ground in celebrations. Allen takes a knee, pretends to rope a calf and then throws his arms in the air after sacks. We'll see if Allen now just does the celebration while standing up.So far the Allen's next sack, I hope that it comes soon, it will be interesting to see how he alters his celebration.
With Week 4 over now it is time for football news to start up again.

AD Earns An Award
Adrian Peterson has earned his first award of the 2010 season with the performance that he had against the Lions. He earned the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. Peterson's won the award based on gaining 160 yards rushing on 23 carries in a 24-10 win over the Lions. His two touchdowns included an 80-yard scamper.
After the way that Peterson has been running ball beg the question. Has the tide shifted in Minnesota? Is this Peterson's team once again. With the performance that the passing offense that has put together so far this season. It is not even close to impressive, average at best. Will this offense be a run first offense coming off the bye week.
With Peterson barely in second place as the leagues leading rusher so far this season. He has been consistent when Chilly does get him the ball. I think that the Vikes would have had a better chance if Person could have gotten the rock a little more in the season opener. Then again that is all in hind sight.
If Favre and the passing game cannot get their act together soon. It will be interesting to see what Chilly does with the passing game. It looks like that AP is regaining his leadership for the Vikes wih his performance on the field during the first 3 games.

Week 3: The Skol Line
The Vikings were able to finally pull off a win, but I did not know it was going to take this long. I will take a W in win column that is for sure.
The offense continues to struggle in the beginning part of the season. This game was the first victory of the season. It sure was tough to see at times. If not for AD having the games that he did. Would the Vikes be at 1-2 or 0-3? Adrian Peterson ripped off an 80 yard run on the way to 190 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. Percy had a decent game and had to jump for a ball that Favre overthrew on the get the TD reception.
The defense did a great job keeping the Lion defense in check for most of the game. The two Lion scores came after 2 Favre interceptions. It just makes me wonder how different the game may have been if Detroit's #1 QB would have been in there. The defense is doing everything they can the keep the Vikes in the game. it is all up to the offense to score the points.
After the first two games of sad offense now gives the Vikes and its fans a little promise of the season. With the bye coming up this week. The Vikings needs to eliminate the penalties and play sharper, more focused football.
Lets just hope that this is 1 of many wins this season.
SKOL VIKINGS!!!!

Why I was out??
Hello everyone--
I just want to let everyone that I am back. The reason that I have not blogged on so LONG was due to my computer being down.My wife + coffee and computer = a new keyboard for the laptop.
I am back and will have a recap this week about the game that the Vikes played today. I just cannot believe the way the season has started out thus far. It is anything but I have envisioned that is for certain. I featured that the Vikes would be going onto the bye with a 2-1 record at its worst and the offense would be somewhat coherent.
