In the first preseason game, I was impressed on how Son how he handled the offense and was able to lead the offense to the end zone with a Chester Taylor 5 yard run. In the Viking 13-3 win, Sage lead the Viking to 10 points in his two drives he played in the game. Rosenfels went 10-13 for 91 yards passing. Brad Childress figured that he saw enough from Sage for the day and then went to Tarvaris Jackson.
Jackson had a average outing for his first preseason game. He went 7-15 with a whooping 39 yards passing and zero yards rushing on 4 attempts. Jackson did continue with his accuracy issues with the alternates. Jackson did have one long drive ending in a Ryan Longwell 36 yard field goal. Other than that drive, Jackson was not impressive, but he was scrambling in the backfield quite a bit.
Chilly did state that Jackson will be starting next week vs. Kansas City, now we will see how Jackson plays with the starters compared the second teamers.
Does it REALLY matter who the Vikings put at QB? I don't think either Sage, T-Jack or even Favre will make that much of a difference.
ReplyDeleteAll the Vikes need is a QB that can keep the defense honest against the run.
