I am by far way out of the loop when it comes to the Vikes efforts in building a new stadium. There was so much buzz around the state capital over the past two days with the bipartisan. The bill will strong enough to make it past one committee vote. On Wednesday when a House Committee defeated the bill by a 9-10 vote.
Right now at least it is not in best interested of the State of Minnesota to build the Vikings a new stadium with the taxpayers money just yet. It looks like the governor figures that the state does not need to pay off another stadium with the Twins playing in their new outdoor field this season.
So far at least it does not look good for the Viking in getting a new state of the art stadium. I am not one to say the Vikes should get financing for the stadium considering I do not even live in the state. I was bad enough that I had to pay the extra tax when the Packers were doing their renovations on Lambeau Field. It is truly hard to see the state granting the Vikes a new stadium build at this point in time. I for one just hope that the Vikes will not be the finalist for the new team talks in LA. If Favre returns can be keep the Vikes in Minnesota with a new stadium?
