Brett Favre Retirement 2.0
It looks like that Brett Favre did it again. He has announced his retirement with the Jets yesterday at a new conference. Favre says it is time hang up the cleats for good this time.Right now, I am not sure what to think right nowabout this news. This is the 2nd retirement for Favre in the past 12 months and then there was the whole Green Bay fiasco all summer long.
The Jets already placed him on reserve-retired list, meaning the quarterback’s retirement paperwork had been filed with the NFL — something he didn’t do last winter with the Packers.
If the Jets had simply released him.In fact, an ESPN report said that Favre’s agent, Bus Cook, had explored getting his client let go from his contract. But now Favre and the Jets say there was never a request for a release from his contract. It is going to be interesting to see what all happens this offseason. There have been reports again that Favre is longing to go to the Vikes. It remains to be seen if anything will happen between Favre and the Vikes in the near future. For now at least, Favre is a retiree, but this one just might be for good, he and the NFL can move forward. This will be more realistic if Farve is not on a NFL roster this September.
