Viking Collapse Against the Giants in Ford Field
As well as the Vikes played against the Giants last night it was T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E. The offense was was nothing, but troublesome to watch. The Vikes were without: two starting offensive lineman sidelined, the starting quarterback sidelined, their dynamic slot receiver and kick returner sidelined, a starting defensive end sidelined, and their top rookie sidelined. The Vikes are starting to look much like the Packers with the injury issued they are having.
Tarvaris Jackson started this game with Favre inactive for this game. This was Jackson's 1st start since 2008; and it was not pretty. He exited the game 3 times , giving the fans a glimpse what to expect of him if he is QBing in 2011 and beyond. He looks out of synced with AD the center. If this is the guy who take most of the snaps in practice, might as well have Joe Webb in there after his performance last night. It also did not help matters with the amount of penalties that the Vikes committed.
This offense looks much like the 2007 Vikes team. If you stop Peterson then tour chances of winning the game is up around 80 percent. The Giants bottled up Peterson for 26 yards on 14 carries. Mission accomplished New York.
The defense started out doing okay, but crumbled after a while. The Vikes picked off Manning twice. The Giants did not have to pass to win this game. Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw both went over 100+ yards and each had a TD.
This Vikes "playoff hopes" are done for this season. This just shows how so much can change after 1 season, even if you have most of the same players coming back.
