There have been so many questions that will remain unanswered for the 2010 Vikings going into Week 17. What happened to the team that was 1 pass from going to the Super Bowl a season ago? I think that is the main question right there.
The game that the Vikes play this week will be interesting to say the LEAST. The loser of the game will the cellar dweller of the NFC North this season. If the Lions win on Sunday, that would be first time since 2007 that they (Lions) would not finish in last place in the division.
Leslie Frazier's Future
For Leslie Frazier, it seems that he has not won over the higher ups just yet. So it looks that he is still trying to earn the right to be the Vikings Head Coach in 2011 and beyond. In my opinion, Frazier has earned the respect in the locker room, that is something that Chilly has never had control over especially in the 2 years Favre was here. In the month or so that Frazier has been the interiem head coach has been craziness. He has done the best he could with what the Vikes went through.
This has included the collapse of the Metrodome roof -- the Vikings were forced to play "home" games in Detroit and at TCF Bank Stadium -- and the NFL's decision to push last Sunday's game between the Vikings and Eagles to Tuesday because of the threat of a blizzard in Philadelphia.
Will Favre Pass
With this expected to be Brett Favre's NFL game. Favre has yet to be cleared to play due to failing the concussion tests yesterday. So Favre will need to pass the tests tomorrow to be be able to play on Sunday. If Favre does pass the tests he is expected to start for the Vikes at Ford Field.
If Favre cannot go, Joe Webb would be the starter for the game. Webb did a stellar job for the Vikes on Sund...Mond....nope Tuesday Night for the Vikes. He did well great job managing the game and not turnover the ball.
Other Thoughts
The game that I am looking forward to watching is the Rams-Seattle game. I would be something to see a team with a losing record make the playoffs. It does not matter who wins that game, because ESPN will be going berserk, because term with more wins were left out of the playoffs.
Other than that i hope that everybody has a great and safe New Years. I hope for the Vikes to have a great 2011 campaign.

Happy New Years Week
New Years Week
I just cannot believe that this the last Week of the regular season. I sure does make me sad. This week does have other implications, nothing to do with the playoffs. The loser of the game this week will be the cellar team of the NFC North. Who would have thought that the Vikes go from 1 pass to make the Super Bowl to potentially finishing last in the division.
The questions going into the game:
Will Favre play in his "potential" final NFL game?
Will Leslie Frazier be the Vikes coach in 2011?
Does the defense need a change?
So after this game, most of these questions will be answered

Vikings Win At Philly 24-14
The Viking sure did shock me last night with the 24-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. I sure was not looking forward to watching the game. The way the Eagles have played all season with Micheal Vick under center. As a Viking fan this sure was a great game to watch from start to finish. This was the best win if the season over a quality opponent.
The defense
The way that the Viking defense played last has been something the team has missed most of the season. The defense did a good job make the Eagles beat you will the long drive and not the BIG plays in this game. The Vikes kept constant pressure on Vick and blitzed quite a bit. The secondary was good in this game with 2 interceptions, but it could have been 2 more if the DBs could have hung on to the ball. The DBs stuck with the receivers and did not allow any big plays(30+ yards). Antoine Winfield changed the completion of the game late in the 2nd quarter with a Winfield Special(sack, forced fumble, fumble recovery, touchdown).
The Offense
With Brett Favre sporting his street clothes last night gave Joe Webb his 1st NFL start. Joe Webb did a good job moving the offense effectively down the field. Webb showed the fans that he has the potential to be the QB of the Future. Webb against the Eagles defense had great poise, intelligence, mobility, and accuracy. The most important stat in the game no INTs by the rookie. This was a great decision by the Viking coach with sticking with Webb as the start and no starting Ramsey and whoever else.
Adrian Peterson also had a good day on the ground rushing over 100 yards in the game. In this game, AD did not have to carry the weight of the offense on his shoulders. This was a balanced offensive attack by the Vikes.
This was a big win for Leslie Frazier to have the interim tag removed from his current title. Ziggy should just hire him on right now, because he seems like the right man for the job. He fits this team perfectly.

Sunday Night Game was Postponed
I still cannot believe that the NFL postponed the game until Tuesday Night. What is this league coming to now. The NFL moved the Minnesota Vikings-Philadelphia Eagles game from Sunday night to Tuesday night because of an expected blizzard that could dump up to 20 inches snow on Philadelphia
Whatever happened NFL players braving the elements. i guess all that went out the window when they instituted things like the Brady Rule, I guess. I guess the Vikes and Eagle will have to have their date on Tuesday. What is Roger the Hammer doing to the NFL.He is making them into more cream puffs that is for certain. I know maybe he should require a dome in every northern NFL state.
In my opinion, this is getting pathetic canceling a game due to SNOW. I guess that I will see everyone on Tuesday,or until something else crazy happens Viking related.

Merry Xmas Week
Hello Everyone. I hope that you have some grand plans for this holiday season.
Vikes-Eagles
This is a game that I have NOT been looking foward to all season long. Now it it upon us and what can we do and just hope that the Vikes can make this game a competitive one.The Eagles offense has it all: a mobile QB in Micheal Vick, a big play reciever in DeSean Jackson and a good RB in McCoy. Now talk about a 3 headed monster for the Vikes defense to defend.
In every game it just seems like the Vikes as a team are falling more and more apart. As of right now and may be changing, Joe Webb is due to make his 1st NFL start against the Eagles...EWWWW! Maybe Webb will have better luck against the Eagles.
As of right now all I want from the Vikes is to finish the season with some respectability. Hope that these game do not cost Leslie Frazier a head coach job as well.
I hope that everyone has a great Xmas this year. With that being said I am holding on to the believe that Vikes might give the SNF crowd a good game to watch.

Rhett Who???
Image by Getty Images via @daylife
You that your team is struggling when it seems like that your team in changing QBs as often as most people change their underwear. The Vikes have signed a new QB off the Giants practice squad, Rhett Bomar.
There is no much to say about his NFL career so far at least, He was drafted by the Giants in 2009 in the 5th round. He has been on the practice squad since. He figured that he would not be the starter in New York with Eli at the helm.
Bomar figures the fresh start will do him good. I bet that he is a BIG fan being a Viking as well with the Vikes expected to have a major overhaul in the QB department this offseason. The only QB I can see coming back to the beloved purple is Joe Webb.
As of right now, Bomar will be serving as the #3 QB for the Sunday Night Football game.

Seeing The End of the Tunnel
I never thought that I would say this, but I will be glad to see the 2010 season some to a close. With what happened to the Vikings last night was atrocious. The Vikes defense make the Bear offense look like the NE Patriots losing 40-14 on Monday Night Football. I guess at least the Packers are not going to be hoisting the NFC North Championship again this season.
Favre started then was knocked out in the 2nd quarter after being thrown to the turf. Before that he was doing okay in the game. Peterson was a late scratch from the game due to a bruised thigh. Toby Gerhart was doing a good job running the ball. The Bears defense was just to much for the banged up OL to handle. If a team can get pressure with 4 and 5 are suppose to block.
At the QB was Joe Webb it was obvious he is not ready to start in the NFL. He can run the whole country saw that much. He needs to get some work in that was for sure. What was really expected out of a rookie QB that has been the 3rd stringer to the majority of the year.
Now the Vikes will be playing at Philly next Sunday Night. Boy I cannot hardly wait to see this game.

Week Of Craziness
This week as a Viking fan has been a roller coaster ride to say the very least. The beginning of the week, the Vikes were still trying to play in the Metrodome for the game on Monday. After surveying the damage, it was going to HIGHLY unlikely that was going to happen. Then the NFL and the Vikes decided to try to get TCF Stadium(Home of the Gophers) ready for the game. With a lot of hard work it was announced that TCF will host the final home game of the season for the Vikes. At least, we do not have to go to Indy!!!!
With the injury to T-Jack, turf toe that landed him on the IR. This is just sad, the fact the Favre has been playing all the injuries that he has all season. Jackson cannot go because of this just states even more that he is not a starting QB in the NFL.
It look like Joe Webb will make his first career start on Monday Night Football. I just do not know what to think of this right now. He has only had a handful of snaps this season and most of those came last week.

Bears-Vikes
With the Vikes officially out of the playoff picture after the loss against the Giants last week. Now how should the Vikes approach the remainder of the season. Should they play the your players to see if they have what it take to play in the NFL as a starter? Try for a higher draft pick?
With the Bears defense and how the overall offense for the Vikes is not what it was last season. It will in interesting to see how the Vikes approach this game against Da Bears. All of Packer Nation will be cheering on the Vikes. That in itself is just eerie to me.
SKOL VIKINGS!!!!!!

Viking Heading Outdoors
With the status of the Metrodome in the air, with the tears in the roof. It was decided that the dome would not be ready in time for the last home game of the season. The Vikes will be hosting the Bears in the state of Minnesota at least for this "home game."
As of right now, the game is to be played at TCF Stadium the new home of University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. It is said that there has to be plenty of work to be done before the Monday Night Contest to take place. This will be the first outdoor NFL game to be played in Minnesota since December 20, 1981 and is sure to conjure fond memories of the gridiron of old for many Vikings fans.
The main problem with the venue that people would see is that TCF Stagium hold 13,000 less people than the Metrodome does. So here begs the question: Who will be allowed to enter the stadium with tickets to the game in hand?
It would be interesting to see the Vikes play an outdoor home game, it will be the first time to see in my lifetime.

Viking Collapse Against the Giants in Ford Field
As well as the Vikes played against the Giants last night it was T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E. The offense was was nothing, but troublesome to watch. The Vikes were without: two starting offensive lineman sidelined, the starting quarterback sidelined, their dynamic slot receiver and kick returner sidelined, a starting defensive end sidelined, and their top rookie sidelined. The Vikes are starting to look much like the Packers with the injury issued they are having.
Tarvaris Jackson started this game with Favre inactive for this game. This was Jackson's 1st start since 2008; and it was not pretty. He exited the game 3 times , giving the fans a glimpse what to expect of him if he is QBing in 2011 and beyond. He looks out of synced with AD the center. If this is the guy who take most of the snaps in practice, might as well have Joe Webb in there after his performance last night. It also did not help matters with the amount of penalties that the Vikes committed.
This offense looks much like the 2007 Vikes team. If you stop Peterson then tour chances of winning the game is up around 80 percent. The Giants bottled up Peterson for 26 yards on 14 carries. Mission accomplished New York.
The defense started out doing okay, but crumbled after a while. The Vikes picked off Manning twice. The Giants did not have to pass to win this game. Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw both went over 100+ yards and each had a TD.
This Vikes "playoff hopes" are done for this season. This just shows how so much can change after 1 season, even if you have most of the same players coming back.

Metrodome Roof Has Collapsed
I guess this goes to show you that you need to shove off the roof if you get 15 inches of snow in a day. With this now the game between the Vikes and the Giants will now take place at Ford Field at 6 PM CT. If the Giants would have taken their cold weather gear with on the trip, then game may have taken place today. It will be a different sort og game tomorrow. I wonder how much purple and gold will be in the stands on Monday Night.

Giants-Vikes Moved Due To Snow
Earlier this afternoon, Vikings fans found out that the Giants were unable to land the plane in Minnesota due o the snowstorms that they were getting hit with all day. Well the Giants thought that leaving 3.5 hours early was plenty of time. Well not so much. There is a reason why there are stay in Kansas City tonight and NOT Minnesota. It was not enough time before the Minneapolis Airport runways were closed down.
Minneapolis has been hammered with 15 inches of snow and wind gusting over 30 mph. This made the NFL push the game back to 7 PM CT on Monday Night.. As of right now, the game will be shown to ONLY local markets and those that have NFL Sunday Ticket. Dam i was hoping that I would be able to see 2 Viking games in a row.No such luck I guess.
It looks like Brett Favre will have an extra day to rest that bump and old body of his against the Giants defense. I looks like that most of us will see if the rest will do Brett Favre so good after injuring his shoulder against Buffalo.

Vikes-Giants Pregame Thoughts
The Vikes have won the past two weeks against team that are not in the running for a playoff spot. This week is different, the Vikes will be playing against the Giants a team that was hot in the beginning of the season and has cooled off. This Giants team is starting the resemble a little bit of what happened to the Giants last season.
If the Vikes do win this week this would be a big help for Leslie Frazier to get that pesty interim tag removed from the beginning of head coach. It seems that the Frazier is getting the respect from the locker room(something that Chilly could not do.)
It does not matter in the past couple of seasons with the the Vikes and Giants facing off. The Vikes always seem to put together a game plan to win against the Giants. The Vikes need to do what they have been doing to the Giants make Eli beat you. The Vikes need to shut down the run and force young Manning into bad throwing situations. Soon or later Eli is bound the screw something up.
The Giants have been a balanced defense in stopping bot the pass and the run this season. I still think that Brett Favre will be starting at QB on Sunday. The Vikes must think they are making the Giants prepare for Favre and Jackson for the game on Sunday.
I just need AD to have another big game. He is my MVP in my fantasy team. With AD running with authority as of late. It sure is something to every fans loved to see AD running over defenders and hanging on to the football.
I hope that everyone has a great weekend....err well except Packer fans at least.

Vikes Grades vs the Bills
Vikings 38 Bills 14
Overall: B+
Coming into the game, I thought that the Vikes would have more trouble with the Bills. The Vikings lead 31-7 at half time was highly unexpected. Brett Favre went down in the first series of the game and Tarvais Jackson did a decent job taking his place. Peterson ripped through the Bills defense for much of the game. The Vikes running game is what won it for the Vikes in this game. The offense played was so-so with Jackson throwing 3 INTs and Favre had 1 on his only pass of the game.
Rushing Offense: A
The Vikes did not give the ball to any back more than 20 times in the game. The 3 running backs that were used had at least 10 carries each. Coming into the game everyone was wondering if AD's ankle would be an issue, it was not a factor at all. Peterson gained 107 yards on 16 carries and 3 TDs. Toby Gerhart had 13 carries for 54 yards and Albert Young...yes he is still a Viking had 10 carries for 27 yards. The RBs were not a factor in the passing game. The Bills were unable to contain the Vikes running game.
Rushing Defense: B
The Vikes run defense is not quite what once was a couple years ago. They are still one of the best in the league. They allowed 77 yards on 18 carries and NO TDs. The Vikes did cause 4 fumbles and recovered 3 of the lose balls. If not for 2 good run plays by the Bills the Vikes did a stellar job containing the Bills running game.
Passing Offense: C+
Brett Favre went down in the first series of the game with a sprained shoulder. This gave Jackson the chance that he needed to prove that he could be a starter in the NFL. Jackson threw three interceptions but after Bills returned the first one for a touchdown, he led the Vikings to touchdowns on their next four possessions for a 28-7 lead to put the game away before halftime. Jackson finished 15 for 22 for 187 yards 2 TDs.
Sidney Rice had a good game as the Vikes #1 receiver as well 105 yards on 5 catches with 2 TDs..just like old times.
Passing Defense: B+
The Vikes pass rush was in Fitzpatrick's face all game long. The Vikes recorded 1 sack, but the pressure was key for a victory this week in the dome. With that pressure Antonie Winfield got a St.Nick's day gift an INT. Fitzpatrick also lost a fumble in the game as well.
Special Teams: B
Ryan Longwell hit his only FG attempt and was 5-5 on XPs. Chris Kluwe on 4 punting nailed 2 of them into the 20, what more can you ask from a punter. The return games was not the same with the Vikes explosive player Percy Harvin out due to migraines. The Bills fumbled away a kickoff and the Vikes pounced all of the lose ball.

Vikes-Bills Pregame Thoughts
The Bills and the Vikes have been going through disappointment this season. Both squad have been losing some close games this season. I know we have a different head coach for the remainder of the season. It sure does not make me feel any better about this game.
The Bills offense is pretty balanced with Ryan Fitzpatrick as their QB and Fred Jackson at the RB. Fitzpatrick averages nearly 250 yards a game and for the season has 19 TDs, geez no wonder so many people the fantasy world has him on their roster.
As of right now the defense scares me. The unit ranks as on of best in the NFL, but the problem is keeping the opponent from scoring. For the Vikes to wins the game, they NEED to have a pass rush by not letting Buffalo get pass happy on the Vikes DBs. This season the Vikes have no pass rush unlike last season.
With the Vikes offense, I just do not know what to expect from them right now. They have been up and down all season. With AD iffy for the game. It would a nice win against the Bills. I am not keep my hopes up with the down season Vikes have been having this year is crazy.
I hope that everyone has a safe weekend.....SKOL VIKINGS!!!!

Toby Leads To Vikes
This was Leslie Frazier's first game as the interim head coach of the Vikes. I know that it it only one game, but the team sure did respond to Frazier being the HC now. It is going to be interesting to see if the team can continue this march.
On Sunday, the Vikes accomplished something that they have not been able to do in 9 games...that is win a game on the ROAD. I just cannot believe that it has been that long since that last victory in the opponents house.
The offense was also to run efficiently with Adrian Peterson going down early in the second quarter with an ankle injury. Before Peterson went down he had 36 yards on 6 carries with a TD. Toby carried the load for the rest of the game after Peterson went down. Toby had a career game with 76 yards on 22 carries and his 1st career TD run. Congrats to Toby, I hope there are many more to come.
Favre managed the game and was good enough not to lose this game. 15-23 passing for 176 yards. Favre also ran for 10 yards that is correct a 10 yard game by grandpa. I thought he was going to die right there. I do not want to see to many of those plays.
The defense did a good job keeping the 'Skins in check in this game. Giving up 1 TD drive the other 2 were FGs. The defense sacked McNabb 4 times and intercepted him in the red zone. The defense for the most part shut down the 'Skins. The Redskins were not able to do much on the ground today due to the Viking front front dominating the "Skins line. I am so happy to see the Vikes getting a WIN and the Packers getting a LOSE.
It sure is a great week to be a Vikings fan..SKOL VIKINGS!!!!!!

What To Be Thankful For
Image by Getty Images via @daylife
With Thanksgiving coming up in less 2 hours away. It is not a holiday filled with stress, decorating and presents. It is a holiday to be thankful for so many different things. From a Vikings fan I am thankful that the Ziggy Wilf had come to his senses after a humiliating loss to the Vikes rival Green bay Packers. The team cut the ties of head coach Brad Childress. I for was relieved when I heard this news.
With the Vikes not playing til Sunday against the Redskins. It will be interest to see how the Vikes play to newly promoted interim head coach Leslie Frazier. Will he be able to make a difference in the locker room for the rest of the season, in a way that Chilly was not able to. Can Frazier run a tighter shift in a Viking team that has Super Bowl talent, this team just could not put it together this season.
It sure would be nice to see the Vikes put some wins together to make something out of a somewhat lost season. This will be it from me until late Sunday. Until then:
SKOL VIKINGS!!!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Chilly Firing and More
Every fan thought that the owner waited two weeks to long to fire Brad Childress. The reason he was still with the team this season was the magical year that Brett Favre and the offense had last season.Chilly received a 3 year contract extension last season.
Chilly lost the locker room due to the fact that he was unable to keep the respect of his players. I really do not think the fans gave Chilly much of a shot as the Vikings head coach. Who can blame them. He was unable to make in-game adjustments to what the other teams were doing. With the way that he treated Brett Favre, basically handing him the keys to the offense the past two years. Just look at what happened to Mike Sherman.
I do feel bad for the guy, but why would you give Favre so much leeway to show up whenever he wants to for training camp. Other players want stability and equality in the locker room.
With Childress out as Vikings head coach, the man to serve as interim will be Leslie Frazier. It is going to be interesting to see how Frazier handles a team that knows they will not make the playoffs unless to receive a lot of help. Will 6 weeks be enough to be able to tell that Frazier is fit to be the Vikes Head Coach next season? It will be interesting to see what the Vikes do here on out. Can they(the Viking players) do what the Cowboys are doing under Jason Garrett?

Down In The Dumps
After the game yesterday, the Vikes got dominated on their own turf against the Packers in a 31-3 loss. The Vikes are looking worse and worse in each week this season. This was the game that the Vikes as a team had finally hit rock bottom. The Vikes were dominated from the 2nd quarter until the final seconds in the 4th quarter.
The defense had no answers for the pass and that is all the packer had to do to run all over field on the Vikes. After this hilarious display of football that Brad Childress put together against the Packers.
It looks like the Favre magic is totally lost with 10 TD and 16 INTS this season. The only consistent on offense is Peterson 20 yards from going over 1000 yards for his 4th season in 5 years.
With his loss now, I have to wear Packer crap for the rest of the week. What was I thinking the Vikes winning against the Packers.

Favre's Final Hurrah
Image via Wikipedia
With the Vikings and Green Bay Packers are going to be facing off for the final time in the regular season tomorrow. In order for the Packers to keep pace with the Bears they need to win this Sunday, because the Monster of the Midway won on Thursday Night Football 16-0.
With all the pressure on the Packers this weekend and the Vikings season going to down the tubes(currently), I am staying optimistic until they are mathematically eliminated from the postseason. The Packers do not seem to be to worried about the Vikings passing game. All the attention is going to be to STOP PETERSON!!!! Well that is all that I have been hearing all week on the news out here.
I for one would not be shocked to see Fave have a HUGE game against his former team and even out the season series at 1 a piece. I also sounds like Sidney Rice is going to try to play as much as his hip will allow him on Sunday as well.Favre and the receivers this season have looked out of sync.Lets all hope that Rice and Favre have the same magic they had last season. The question is Will Rice be used as a decoy??
On the defense side of the ball, the Vikings defense has been stout this season as it always is. The Vikes will need to stop Rodgers from torching the Viking DBs in this game. It seems that the weakness on defense has ALWAYS been the secondary. Can Allen and Co. get the pressure they need to get up front to get Rodgers and the receiver out of sync?
I hope that it is a GREAT Sunday for Viking fan and not so good for Packers fans...SKOL VIKINGS!!!

Rice May Sit Out 2010
With the chances of the Vikings to making the playoffs barely even flickering. The offense is NOTHING close to what they were last season. Sidney Rice was lighting it up last season with all the Favre bombs down the field.
Before the start of the 2010 season, the news came that Rice would be getting hip surgery on a hip that he injured in the NFC Championship game. After this news so many people asked why did you pull Favre and wait until the last minute. It has been obvious that the Vikes are not the same high fly offense that they were last season.
There is an article that caught my attention on Sidney Rice. There has been speculation that he may not return in the 2010 season in search of a new contract. Rice is in his final year of his contract after all. The way that he exploded last season was unreal. Sid the Kid might use his 2009 Pro Bowl stats as a bargaining chip for the contract.
With Rice have Drew Rosenhaus as his agent you never really know what he will advise his client(Rice) to do to get more money his is thick wallet.

Down In The Dumps
I am with Grant's Tomb after the 27-13 loss to the Bears yesterday. The Vikings as a team look pathetic and undisciplined in yesterdays game. The lone spark on offense Harvin 53 yard TD pass from Favre. Besides that play it look like a "Chinese Fire drill."
After 5 years under Chilly the Vikes have been consistent in something at least the inability to win road game.Chilly is 14-23 on the road. I just cannot believe the Vikes have lost 9 straight road games...geeez.
The hope the Vikes will make the postseason is long but gone. Technically, they are still in the hunt for the postseason. Realistically, the Vikes are miles behind teams like the Falcons or the Steelers. Until they can get some consistency then the same football will be expected from this lackluster football team.

Vikes-Bears Ready For War
Can the Vikes accomplish two things they have yet to do all season? Win on the road and win two games in a row. It sure will be interesting to see if the Vikes are able to accomplish this feat tomorrow.
The Vikes will try to win at Soldier Field tomorrow against the Bears. As any Viking fan would know that this place has been nothing, but difficult to be victorious at for the last 10 years. In that span the Vikes have had 1 win..that is correct. That win came at the hand of Peterson running over the Bears defense for 224 yards and 3 TDs. Still it was a CLOSE game.
Can the Vikes expose what the Bears really are frauds. The only legit team that the Bears have beat so far are the Packers. The other teams that Bears have been victorious against are as follows: Detroit (2-6), Dallas (1-7), Carolina (1-7) and Buffalo (0-8).
Can this game be the one that the Vikes turn things around? Or will this be the turning point in the season to make a playoff push. The Vikes will need to play sound football in this game on both sides of the ball.
In that Arizona game....yes I know it was only Arizona. I saw some of that magic from Favre and the offense that was visible in 2009 on a weekly basis. This game is going to be a statement game for both teams. This will be a old fashion NFC North slugfest. The fans and media are not sure where the season is headed for either squad. This is a must win for either team.
In the end whomever can get the best pass rush on the QB will be victorious in this contest.

Looks Like Chilly Is Staying This Week
With the Vikes 27-24(OT) win over the Cards on Sunday was not much of a surprise. In this game it was much like the season has been going so far in 2010, up and down. With the heroics of Brett Favre and the receivers with 3 minutes and change left in the 4th quarter to comeback from a 14 point deficit. Favre had his more passing yards in a game for his career. His second 4oo yards passing performance, his last was when Percy Harvin was 5 years old.
The Cards capitalized from the Viking mistakes in this one, a Harvin fumble for a AZ TD and a kickoff for a TD. The Arizona offense was not all that great. With the Vikes finally started to apply pressure Derek Anderson was helpless under center getting sacked 6 times. Yeah that is right coming into the game that is how many sacks the Vikes had ALL season.
With this win it puts some ice in the fire for the hot seat that Chilly is currently sitting on. With the firing of Wade Phillips, now the Vikes have the worst and most ridiculous coach in the NFL. Now barring a complete turnaround. This should be the final season for Chilly. It looks like the status will be week-to-week on his job status.
If I were Chilly I would be thanking my lucky stars that Favre had the game that he did. He and Wade would be in the unemployment line right now.

If The Fans Did Not Hate Chilly Before
As a Viking fan, it sure has been a LONG week from my perspective to say the least. As my loyal readers know that I live in the Green bay area. So you can understand where I am coming from.
If anyone has been desert on an island and even then I am sure you heard the news that the Vikings cut ties with WR Randy Moss.It was the decision on Head coach Brad Childress to do this because Moss. With this move, Chilly sure did put his butt on the fire once again. The owner of the Vikes was even considering firing Childress and keeping Moss from going on the waiver wire. It just seemed that Childress did not want to deal with Moss anymore. During the week, Childress stated that the trade for Moss was a 'poor decision.' If he is still the coach for the Vikes, the the franchise as a whole is in trouble.
I also heard that the Minnesota Timberwolves fanbase was chanting"FIRE CHILLY," during the game. It is just so sad to imagine that a coach has so much talent on the offense and is so clueless how to execute a game plan.
It is going to be interesting to see if the Vikes are going to playing hard against the Cardinals and win this Sunday. It is going to be a true test to see if Clueless Chilly has lost the locker room or not.

What Did We Learn Moday Night?
The defense kept us in the entire game. It is obvious that the Vikes have a Super Bowl caliber defense. With the ACL injury to CB Cedric Griffin. It will be interesting to see who will be filling that role the best. My bet will be Sanford or Cook.
Now if the offense mainly the QB could be playing at the same level as the defense the Vikes would be in great shape. The way that Favre played in the 2.5 quarter was horrendous. He could not hit the open receiver. So far in the season that had so much promise for the Vikes has been nothing, but heartbreak. He missed MULTIPLE open receivers throughout the game. There is a reason, why he has one of his worst passing percent game even in his career.
The Vikes have all the weapons in Moss, Harvin and of course Peterson the run with the big boys. The question is can Favre use all the weapon instead to overshooting the receiver. That will remain to be seen.
Can the Vikes get over the hump and not lose another close game next week against the Cowboys @home?

Will Moss Take Issue?
With the arrival of Randy Moss to the Vikes this past week was all over the news. Now with this trade, the Vikes receiving corps is or should be thrilled to have someone with Moss's caliber on the teams. The Jets do not seem to be to worried about Moss this week.
I for one am not that sure if the DB that will be defending Moss should be talking so much smack.
Here is a quotes from Revis that has been on his island for most of the season: "In the second half, you could tell he was putting his foot on the brakes," Revis said about Moss' performance against the Jets, via ESPNNewYork.com. "I mean, everybody knows that's Randy. Sometimes he plays 100 percent, sometimes he doesn't."
I am not sure what he is talking about considering that Antonio Cromartie shut Moss down in the second half. I think with this kind would will be motivation for Moss and the Vikes to take it to the Jets on all levels.
Sure if funny a motivated Moss is a freak of a receiver. So we will see which Moss will be showing up on Monday Night.
The only question I have can Favre get Moss the ball? We all will see that on MNF.

Randy Moss Is Coming Home Boys!!!
Image via Wikipedia
No we Viking fans are not dreaming it has come true. With an receiving corps that currently does not have a true deep threat in the passing game. The Vikings knew that they needed to get one in there. So a couple of weeks ago, the Vikes tried to acquired Vincent Jackson for the Chargers as that guy. Lucky, for the Vikes that class prick AJ Smith want to much that any team would be willing to give up.
Head down the road a couple of weeks. There was word that the Vikes and Patriots were talking about a possible trade for former Viking Randy Moss. The deal was officially announced this morning, that both team agreed on the terms of the Pats sending Randy Moss to the Vikes in exchange for a 2011 3rd round pick.
It looks like Moss will be playing in two straight Monday Night Football games. Now the Vikes have a legit deep threat at the receiver position, while Rice is out. It will be interesting to see how Moss will impact the Vikes this season.

Bye Week Blues Are Over
Image by Getty Images via @daylife
I sure do hate bye weeks especially this early in the season. I love to watch football, but it just is not the same watching the other teams. It seems that the player did keep thier noses clean for the bye week, so that is great to hear that the Vikes had no Love Boat incidents.
Some Viking news that did happen during the bye was not that terrible. The Not Fun League(NFL) office intold Allen that his "calf roping" celebration after sacks is against the rules. The NFL informed Allen that he will be subjected to a 15-yard penalty and a league fine the next time he does the celebration.
The league prohibits players from going to the ground in celebrations. Allen takes a knee, pretends to rope a calf and then throws his arms in the air after sacks. We'll see if Allen now just does the celebration while standing up.So far the Allen's next sack, I hope that it comes soon, it will be interesting to see how he alters his celebration.
With Week 4 over now it is time for football news to start up again.

AD Earns An Award
Adrian Peterson has earned his first award of the 2010 season with the performance that he had against the Lions. He earned the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. Peterson's won the award based on gaining 160 yards rushing on 23 carries in a 24-10 win over the Lions. His two touchdowns included an 80-yard scamper.
After the way that Peterson has been running ball beg the question. Has the tide shifted in Minnesota? Is this Peterson's team once again. With the performance that the passing offense that has put together so far this season. It is not even close to impressive, average at best. Will this offense be a run first offense coming off the bye week.
With Peterson barely in second place as the leagues leading rusher so far this season. He has been consistent when Chilly does get him the ball. I think that the Vikes would have had a better chance if Person could have gotten the rock a little more in the season opener. Then again that is all in hind sight.
If Favre and the passing game cannot get their act together soon. It will be interesting to see what Chilly does with the passing game. It looks like that AP is regaining his leadership for the Vikes wih his performance on the field during the first 3 games.

Week 3: The Skol Line
The Vikings were able to finally pull off a win, but I did not know it was going to take this long. I will take a W in win column that is for sure.
The offense continues to struggle in the beginning part of the season. This game was the first victory of the season. It sure was tough to see at times. If not for AD having the games that he did. Would the Vikes be at 1-2 or 0-3? Adrian Peterson ripped off an 80 yard run on the way to 190 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. Percy had a decent game and had to jump for a ball that Favre overthrew on the get the TD reception.
The defense did a great job keeping the Lion defense in check for most of the game. The two Lion scores came after 2 Favre interceptions. It just makes me wonder how different the game may have been if Detroit's #1 QB would have been in there. The defense is doing everything they can the keep the Vikes in the game. it is all up to the offense to score the points.
After the first two games of sad offense now gives the Vikes and its fans a little promise of the season. With the bye coming up this week. The Vikings needs to eliminate the penalties and play sharper, more focused football.
Lets just hope that this is 1 of many wins this season.

Why I was out??
Hello everyone--
I just want to let everyone that I am back. The reason that I have not blogged on so LONG was due to my computer being down.My wife + coffee and computer = a new keyboard for the laptop.
I am back and will have a recap this week about the game that the Vikes played today. I just cannot believe the way the season has started out thus far. It is anything but I have envisioned that is for certain. I featured that the Vikes would be going onto the bye with a 2-1 record at its worst and the offense would be somewhat coherent.

Who Will Strike First
Image by Getty Images via @daylife
With the news that the Saints DC Gregg Williams' interview has been delayed. I would be shocked if Sean Peyton allows Williams to talk at all. Considering in training camp Williams said that starting will this game, he want to send a message. The message of course is the "remember me hit".
The last think that Peyton wants is that Vikes defense crippling the Saints QB Drew Brees. With what the Saint Defense did to Favre last season. I think Frazier will be blitzing Brees like white on rice.
Many people believe that Favre came back, especially for this game that it to take place on Thursday against the Saints. With the beating he took against the Saints in the NFC Championship game. I bet that it will be a keep point that the offensive line to Favre in this game.
The fans do not want to see T-Joke on the field in any point of the season to start a game unless the Vikes have the division all wrapped up. We will all see if Favre still has the magic that he had most of last season.
SKOL VIKINGS!!!
With the news that the Saints DC Gregg Williams' interview has been delayed. I would be shocked if Sean Peyton allows Williams to talk at all. Considering in training camp Williams said that starting will this game, he want to send a message. The message of course is the "remember me hit".
