AD Earns An Award

Adrian Peterson has earned his first award of the 2010 season with the performance that he had against the Lions. He earned the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. Peterson's won the award based on gaining 160 yards rushing on 23 carries in a 24-10 win over the Lions.  His two touchdowns included an 80-yard scamper.
After the way that Peterson has been running ball beg the question. Has the tide shifted in Minnesota?  Is this Peterson's team once again. With the performance that the passing offense that has put together so far this season. It is not even close to impressive, average at best.  Will this offense be a run first offense coming off the bye week.
With Peterson barely in second place as the leagues leading rusher so far this season. He has been consistent when Chilly does get him the ball. I think that the Vikes would have had a better chance if Person could have gotten the rock a little more in the season opener. Then again that is all in hind sight.
If Favre and the passing game cannot get their act together soon. It will be interesting to see what Chilly does with the passing game. It looks like that AP is regaining his leadership for the Vikes wih his performance on the field during the first 3 games.

Favre Watch 2010: Update Peterson Plea

With training camp FAST approaching, Adrian Peterson said" he's willing to beg Favre to come back if that's what it takes." Peterson also expects for him and Favre to be on the same field again this coming season.

The fact that the Vikes were SO CLOSE to the Super Bowl last season they could taste it. This just gives the team so much more motivation this season and know what needs to done this season.

AD also said" reaching the Super Bowl would carry extra weight for him this season because the game is in Texas, where he was born and raised." This would be perfect for both parties, then Favre can go out like Elway a Champion. AD can win a championship like Bettis did close to home.

This is news Favre loves to hear. The way his teammates would love for him to join them on a Super bowl run. The way that Peterson talked about him just makes it seem more and more that there will be no word from Favre til Week 2 into preseason games.

Peterson Workin' On It

With it being so obvious that team were going after the ball last season with his fumbling issues. This what he has been working so hard on this past off season.Adrian Peterson want nothing more than to help his team to the big show and not hinder it.He wants to be know more than a running that runs so hard, but lacks ball control. It just seemed to me that he fumbled last season at the LEAST opportune times. 
He has been one of my favorite running backs since he was a Sooner. I was thrilled when the Vikes drafted him. Sometimes he drives me crazy when he fumbles the ball away. I for one hope that his offseason work has paid off greatly.

The running backs carried a 14-pound football filled with sand during one drill that the network showed. Reporter Solomon Wilcots described it as the football version of a medicine ball, designed to help the running backs get a better feel for the football and presumably help reduce fumbles.

With the mandatory mini camp coming up this weekend. Chilly want AD to work on his fumbling issue. I just hope that it all works out and he has done enough this offseason to merit more trust from Chilly.

Last season, nobody will say, but there were some trust issues with AD and Chilly with AD carrying the ball down the stretch of a close game. I hope to see AD run out some games with more confidience in him from the coaching staff.

Peterson fumbing vs. other great running backs

With everyone in the league knowing that AD only downfall is his inability to hang onto the ball. It is usually when AD is trying to get the extra yard or so. So many fans are enraged every time he fumbles the ball away. Peterson has many more positives than negatives. He strikes fear into every defense that he faces. The opposing teams usually stop AD in order to win the game.

With so many people thinking that AD needs to fix this problem quick or it many be time to start shopping for a running back. Peterson will keep trying to find ways to try to keep the ball in his hands and not on the ground.It is just surprising with what I hear of his bone crushing hand shakes. Maybe AD is graping the ball to tight and it is popping out. Who knows? We Viking fan will see if AD can fix his fumbling issues.

Peterson honored

On Wednesday, Adrian Peterson was honored at a Super Bowl conference at Tampa,FL. He was named the FedEx Ground Player of the Year.Peterson was had a record setting season for the Vikes. He broke the single season rushing record as well as the only Viking running back to win the rushing title.He had 1,760 rushing yards and rushed over 100 yards in 10 games this season.Peterson is the 5th player to reach 3,000 yards on the ground by their second season.

FedEx will donated $25,000 in Peterson's honor to the Safe Kids USA chapter in Minneapolis. Safe Kids is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to prevent accidental childhood injury.

Rushing Title

AD THE RUSHING CHAMP

Adrian Peterson is now the 1st Viking in franchise history to get a rushing title. He wins the title with1760 yards 363 attempts 4.8 average per carry and 10 rushing TDs. We thank you Adrian for the memorable year. He ranks fourth with the most yards on the grounds after his first 2 seasons. He trails only Eric Dickerson, Edgerrin James and Earl Campbell.

AD does it again

In the Pro Bowl AD showed why he has been considered one of the best running backs in the NFL. He had most of the playing time over Brain Westbrook of the Eagles. Peterson, the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year, ran for 129 yards and two touchdowns, and Terrell Owens made up for early sloppiness with two TD receptions in the NFC’s 42-30 comeback victory over the AFC on Sunday. With the performance AD recieved the MVP of the Pro Bowl. He is the 1st rookie since Marshall Faulk to do so.We Viking fans liked the looks of this performance. It looks like the AD pre-knee injury. He showed the league that he is not just a half a season wonder.

AD in AZ

Adrian Peterson is down in Glendale, AZ. That is correct he is down there for promotions and media rounds on Monday.As for the knee is is saying that it is "fine". Let's hope that it is 110 percent come the season opener.He also refuses that is the reason that he was slowed in the last four games in the season. With his steller performance as a rookie breaking so many rookie records he is going to the Pro Bowl.Peterson will spend the week at the Super Bowl before flying to Hawaii on Monday. He's also footing the bill for 10 teammates and about 25 family members to join him.He is also stating that the Vikes will participate in the SB again. I hope that he is right sooner than later.

AD wins the Offensive Rookie of Year

This is a total shocker to me

Not so much by his achievements as he ran away with the Associated Press NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year voting the same way he surged past opposing tacklers this season. What has gotten the attention of the Minnesota Vikings running back is who he joins as winners of the award.

"It's a great honor to join a list with names like those," Peterson said Wednesday when told that Jim Brown, Emmitt Smith, Eric Dickerson and Billy Sims also won the award. "They are guys that I looked up to growing up. It's a goal that I set before the year started, to win rookie of the year, so it feels great to accomplish that."

Peterson, who set the league mark for rushing in a game with 296 yards in a 35-17 victory over San Diego, also had a 224-yarder in a win against Chicago. The key to Minnesota's improvement to an 8-8 record this season, he led the NFC with 1,341 yards rushing, second only to San Diego's LaDainian Tomlinson in the league. His 78 points on 13 touchdowns were second in the conference.

Those numbers, compiled in 14 games, and his overall impact -- the Vikings struggled to pass the ball, yet were in the wild-card race until the final game -- earned Peterson 46 1/2 votes Wednesday from a nationwide panel of 50 media members who regularly cover the NFL. Cleveland tackle Joe Thomas was the only other player receiving votes, 3 1/2.

He could have sat out the rest of the season after his knee injury and still won the award. I hope that he continues on with ia punish like running.He is always a thrill to watch every time he is out there.Great Year Adrian.

AD not rules Out

Depending on what Chilly and the other coaches rule for the game Sunday against the Giants. AD might have a chance, but it is slim to have playing time on Sunday.If he does play he will not get his 20-25 carries. Considering that they are not really contending for the playoffs or anything, but I would not pushing him back so fast as long he is 100%. Considering the performance that the Vikes got out of Chester Taylor last week against the Raiders. Our line has been doing a good job with run blocking. I hope that the Vikes does screw this up and he might do more damage AD's knee. We will see what s come Sunday.

What does AD sent to the Hall??

I read ESPN today and they finally said what he will be giving to the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Now that record breaking rushing game that he had against the Chargers feels so long ago. That day against the Chargers he was a monster like he has been most of the games this year.
Anway, he will be giving the Hall of Fame his uniform he wore that day. Here is the thing about the uniform it has yet to be wash and that will never happen. Joe Horrigan, a representative from the Hall of Fame, feigned disgust as he held the jersey next to him.Starting Friday it will be on display for all people to see.So now the people can see and smell what it takes to earn every yard for the single game rushing record. With this game and year with AD ripping through the defense like butter. I hope that this will be good things to come for the Vikes. AS long as he can stay healthy he will have a great career as a Viking.

Peterson Out with ligament tear

Adrian Peterson will be out against the Raiders for certain after the knee injured he sustained against Green Bay on Sunday. He will miss at least one game with a torn lateral collateral ligament(LCL). But the injury is not deemed serious enough to require surgery to end his season. He did not tear any of the major ligaments. This is bittersweet news for Viking fans. Team doctors told Childress that with ligament tears graded on a three-point scale, with three being the worst, Peterson's tear is "two-plus." It's not as serious as an anterior cruciate ligament tear.With a little time Peterson will be back in his same form.

An Award

With the Vikes having a bye this week there is not that much news to report.With their hot star playmaking rookie Adrian Peterson that is an early favorite for Rookie of the Year. With four games under his belt. He is looking like he has playing this game longer. He is making the run defense wonder how to stop this kid. For the month of September he had earned the NFC Rookie of the Month. Here is a look at the number that Peterson has been putting up so f in the season.

If he stay healthy and depending if Chilly keeps in the second half, Peterson will probably rush over 1500 yard this season.

Who will we draft

I cannot wait for the NFL Draft to finally get here and put all the talk to rest. We will finally see who the Raiders take at number 1 pick. My team is the Minnesota Vikings, I have been reading up on the mock drafts. Their are some conflicting view of who they should pick and who will be still available. The draft "experts" have said either LaRon Landy or Adrian Peterson. LaRon Landry is a FS from Louisiana State. He is a guy that knows where the ball is and will make the play. This guy would be a great asset the Vikings secondary. We had on the worst pass defenses in the league last year. With Landy, he help our pass defense shutdown the opponents' passing game. Our run defense was one of the best in the league. The experts say that he should still be around for number 7.
Adrian Peterson is a RB from the University of Oklahoma. He has a great blend size, speed, strength and field vision. We and Taylor would be a great 1-2 punch in the running game. This would take pressure off the QB we have next year. I would be glad to have either one of these picks. I hope that at least one of these 2 are still around for Minnesota. If they are not around, it will be interesting. Interesting who the Vikes will pick up and what position. Hopefully, we can pick up someone for the secondary, we need some help back there.
