Earlier this afternoon, Vikings fans found out that the Giants were unable to land the plane in Minnesota due o the snowstorms that they were getting hit with all day. Well the Giants thought that leaving 3.5 hours early was plenty of time. Well not so much. There is a reason why there are stay in Kansas City tonight and NOT Minnesota. It was not enough time before the Minneapolis Airport runways were closed down.
Minneapolis has been hammered with 15 inches of snow and wind gusting over 30 mph. This made the NFL push the game back to 7 PM CT on Monday Night.. As of right now, the game will be shown to ONLY local markets and those that have NFL Sunday Ticket. Dam i was hoping that I would be able to see 2 Viking games in a row.No such luck I guess.
It looks like Brett Favre will have an extra day to rest that bump and old body of his against the Giants defense. I looks like that most of us will see if the rest will do Brett Favre so good after injuring his shoulder against Buffalo.

Favre Watch 2010: Update
Brett Favre spoke not once, but twice this wee. By this much be some sort of a holiday this week to get this kind of coverage. Early this week, Favre told Al Jones of the Biloxi Sun-Herald that "I would love to go beat the Saints." It seems that Favre is workout out pretty regulary, like bike eight miles a day. When I saw that I was like holy crap, that is pretty good for a 40 year old. What is he doing getting ready for the 2011 Tour De France. Everyone knows that Favre WANTS to repay the Saints a visit to what they did not him last season in the NFC Title Game. With the Saints defense trying to kill Favre with the remember me hit. I am sure that Favre will remember them alright. I have been among the many Viking bloggers that is so sure that Favre will be back in purple for Season number 20.
With this statement, everyone was so sure that he was undoubtedly coming back. He issued this statement to Al Jones again. It stated that he has no clue if he was coming back. He claims he would like to know. What does that mean? Is this the onset of a multipersonality disorder.
It is more than likely that Favre has told the front office about his plans this season, the team as a whole does not know just yet.If Favre would have told the Vikes that he was coming back right away, I for one would have been kind of nervous.
So let the speculation continue for at least another month and half, it sure will be a fun ride.

T-Jack News and More
The Restricted Free Agent tneder period coming to a close at 11pm last night. The news broke that Tarvaris Jackson will sign a one year tender for the Vikes this season. Of course there was no team willing to give up a draft pick for T-Jack. His tender is worth $1.176 million.
As long as Favre comes back for his 20th season. Jackson will be riding the pine pony again this season with very limited playing time again.
The NFL finally announced that the regular season schedules will be released on Tuesday. This has been one of the offseasons worst kept secrets. Everyone knows that it happens before the draft. The Vikes know whom they play already, but what order only the privileged know right now. Here are the opponets:
Bears(2 times), Packers(2), Lions(2), Cowboys, Giants, Redskins, Eagles, Bills, Dolphins, Jets, Patriots, Cardinals, and Saints.
This is no 2009 schedule that is for sure, I am hoping for 11-12 wins this season and that is an optimistic guess.

Viking Quick Hits
The new OT rule change is only in the playoffs, I am still not that sure about it. I still think that both teams should have the opportunity to have at least one possession in the overtime period. With the new rule will give the team that loses the coin toss in overtime an opportunity to get a possession if the club that wins the toss kicks a field goal on its first drive. A touchdown by the team with the first possession would still end the game. I do not think that this situation will be resolved in anytime soon. I say play a 7-10 minute period and judge the winner by this and not just by one deep pass to end the game.
I also liked that the NFL is also considering scheduling intra-divisional games in the last 2 weeks of the season. This would make for some good watching because then some of the teams would not be able to rest some of the regulars depending on how much of a lead they have in the division in the last 2 weeks.
Right now, I am still unsure what direction the Vikes should go in the 1st 2days of drafting(3 rounds)
!st round(CB)
2nd Round (RB)
3rd round(QB)
I will have a mock draft for the Vikes soon. Have a good day everyone.

Name Changes
With baseball ending soon, the Vikes now will be the sole team left in the dome with Twins going down town now and Golden Gophers now playing on campus. The Stadium itself cannot be renamed, but the football filed inside the dome is now the home of the Vikes til 2012 will be:
Mall Of America Field in the Hubert H Humphrey Metrodome.
This will be effective on Monday, because it will be the Twins last home game. After that the Vikes can make it look a little more like home more purple and gold and Viking greats banners and such.

Viking News

- Coach Brad Childress said today that Pro Bowl guard Steve Hutchinson (offense), middle linebacker E.J. Henderson (defense) and kicker Ryan Longwell (special teams) were elected captains by their teammates last week. Those three will wear a “C” on their jersey. Unlike last season when it was week-to- week decisions.
- Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson said it has not been decided if he will wear a brace on his right knee in Monday night’s game. Jackson suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in the Vikings’ second preseason game against Baltimore and did not play in the final two exhibitions.
- Former Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper has announced his retirement, according to reports. Here is the story from ESPN.He is one of my favorite Vikes all-time, I do not care what people say about him. i still wear his jersey with PRIDE.
