Less than a week on the job and Leslie Frazier is already giving some coaches their walking papers to the unemployment line. To make it in the NFL as a Head Coach, you have to be rid yourself of the weakest link(s). This season was mostly on offense. Here are some of the coaches that Frazier has identified as no worth to being part of the 2011 Vikings.
QB Coach Kevin Rogers, Offensive Line Coach Pat Morris and Assistant Offensive Line Coach Jim Hueber were axed by Frazier, and interim defensive coordinator Fred Pagac will more than likely be named permanent defensive coordinator.
So far Darrell Bevell is still the OC for the Vikings. The seat he is still on is EXTREMELY hot at the moment. Considering that nobody is sure that the Vikes will be a West Coast offense team next season, only time will tell for us fans. Josh McDaniels' candidacy is intriguing because Darrell Bevell technically remains the Vikings' offensive coordinator. Bevell met with Frazier this week and, according to a person with knowledge of the situation, was told there still might be a change.
It is going to be something to see how the coaching staff is going to look this next fall......well as long as football is played at least.
